Some songs come from nowhere. This one comes from a pattern I’ve watched play out more times than I’d like to admit.
You meet someone. Things are good. Then her friends show up with that same soft smile, and a few weeks later the air in the room has changed. Nobody says anything outright. It’s coffee talk, careful eyes, advice dressed up as care. And somehow you end up as the villain in a story you never agreed to be in.
It’s no coincidence. It happens again and again.
“No Coincidence” is my attempt to put that feeling into noise: 90s grunge guitars, goth-black atmosphere, and a shoegaze haze that swallows the vocals just enough. To go with it, I made a five-panel graphic novel that tells the story of the song.

Panel one. They arrive at the door, all smiling the same way, like they already know how this ends.

Panel two. Coffee talk and careful eyes. Every kind word has a thorn in it.

Panel three. Whispers turning into weight. She’s still in the room, but she’s already somewhere else.

Panel four. Same script, different name. The photos don’t lie. Different girlfriend, same circle, same smile.

Panel five. The only answer I’ve ever had is to turn the amp up and play through it.

Tell me in the comments if you’ve lived this one too. I have a feeling I’m not the only one.
